Common questions

Frequently asked questions

Do I have to file a return if my home in Spain is empty?

Yes. Owning an urban property in Spain that is not let generates deemed income that must be declared every year.

What happens when I sell a property?

The buyer must withhold a percentage of the price on account of the seller's tax. A correct tax return allows any excess withheld to be recovered.

Are non-residents subject to Wealth Tax?

Yes, on the assets and rights located in Spain, under the terms set out in the tax legislation.
